Advantages of Contracting with Teya
While Teya routinely and successfully competes for work in response to advertised Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), as an SBA 8(a) Certified Alaska Native Corporation (ANC), Teya also offers a flexible and streamlined sole source procurement option for the DoD and other federal agenices. Under a sole source arrangement, Teya can provide you with maximized performance and flexibility, while helping you achieve your small business goals. We have worked with a variety of clients through sole sourcing to meet their unique needs by providing the one-on-one attention we are best known for. There are several key advantages to sole sourcing your project with Teya as outlined below.
-
Working under the sole-source procurement method avoids delays resulting from complex evaluations and resulting protests under a standard procurement process. The sole-source procurement timeline can be measured in weeks instead of months.
-
As an ANC, Teya can offer sole- source procurements protected from protest per 13 CFR 124.517. Eliminating the possibility of protests helps to compress the procurement timeline.
-
Direct negotiations per 13 CFR 124.503 and competitive threshold exemptions per 48 CFR 19.805-1 offer agile and scalable contracting solutions by allowing open discussions and direct negotiations at any phase of the procurement, following SBA approval. Direct negotiations allow you to build the contract exactly as needed and to change the scope at any time – this is something that is not allowable in the competitive environment.
-
ANCs such as Teya, unlike other 8(a) companies, provide the Government with a virtually unlimited threshold for sole source opportunities. Per 48 CFR 19.805-1 and the DoD class deviation of Section 823 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 (Pub. L. 116-92), the DoD can sole source contracts to 8(a) ANCs up to $100 million without Justification and Approval and more than $100 million with Justification and Approval (these thresholds are $25 million for non-DoD agencies).
